How to Remove Company Applications from Accessing My Profile on Facebook?

I’ve realized that most of my readers are not interested in sharing their personal Facebook profile in order to receive a freebie but fear no more. Here’s how to remove a company application from accessing your profile after you’ve signed up for a coupon, sample or freebie:
  1. Go to your Facebook profile page
  2. Click ‘Account’ on the top right
  3. Select ‘Privacy Settings’ from the drop down menu
  4. Click ‘Edit your settings’ on bottom left
  5. Click ‘Edit settings’
  6. Click the “x” link next to any applications you may have inherited via a sample, coupon or freebie (no need to delete Events, Photos etc.) to remove them from accessing your profile.
  7. Done! Pretty easy huh?

After signing up for a coupon, sample or freebie, I personally plan to allow them to access my profile for a day or so and then remove them from accessing my profile (and possibly “un-like” them) because I’m not completely sure if they plan to take care of my request right away, in a couple hours or the next day. But it doesn’t hurt to try signing up then deleting their access to your profile right away?

(Thanks so much @CJ)

I posted this on your Facebook yesterday, but no answer. 🙁

After I click on Application settings, I do not see Company Applications.

    Any ideas??

I can't find anywhere on my account where it says application settings.

I get stuck at the 6th step. There isn't an option for "any applications you may have inherited via a sample, coupon or freebie"…it's not listed there.

I did, however, discover a number of applications that I wanted to remove.
