WAHOO!!! Remember the Sharpie Markers 12-Pack ONLY $3 + FREE Shipping at Staples.com (71% OFF) (no longer availabe) post from 1/7/2012?! Well, this was a really hot deal and it seems like they ran out of stock quick even though many of you, like myself, were still able to place an order. I’m guessing most of you received a cancellation notice regarding this order a few days but check out this email titled “Staples Order for Sharpies” that I received this morning:

We apologize again for our failure in accepting your order for Sharpie markers last week which we could not fulfill. As we do not have access to sufficient supplies to honor all of the orders, we will not be issuing any backorders or extending the price on the Sharpie special. However, to make up for the inconvenience, we are crediting the account you used $5 for each pack you attempted to order. We hope you will consider using this credit at Staples for a future order.
Originally, I paid using my credit card, so I received a totally FREE $5 credit towards my credit card bill… that’s like getting $5 bucks for FREE!!! And I just checked my bank account and the credit has fully gone through. Props to Staples for going the extra mile to make things right. Did you get your FREE $5 Cash Credit from Staples? I am so happy that you are pleased with Staples Customer Service. As a Staples employee I can tell you first hand that this company prides itself on customer service. It’s not something we take lightly. With extensive training and customer services scores coming out monthly we really put our best foot forward in interactions with the customer. We are always putting the customer first and that is what Staples is all about. I may come off sounding like a spokeperson for the company, but I’m just an hourly department manager. It’s a great place to work and we really pride ourselves on how we make the customers feel. Making sure the customer is satisfied in the end.
Wish we had employee’s that feel that way that you do at any the staples where i live. I gave up on Staples (rude, grumpy, disappears, don’t want to help, etc) even the last order i made on line was disastrous

I got mine too! I noticed it yesterday (when checking my checking account) and I called to figure out what was going on since I never recieved the markers. The lady I spoke to apologized for not being able to fill the order and said that for the inconvenience they were crediting customers $5.00 per pack they had ordered. I am a teacher so, I had ordered 3 packs which resulted in a $15.00 credit!!! Way to go Staples!
I noticed the credit the other day and just thought they had a pc glitch and figured I’d be charged the full cost later…..either way BONUS!!!!!
