WALGREENS: FREE Men+Care Deodorant (Starting 5/15)!

Walgreens deal scenario starting 5/15:

Dove Men+Care deodorant for $3.99
Use the $1/1 coupon found here (login or register, click ‘Offers’ tab, click ‘See All Coupons’ then click under ‘Member-Only Coupons’)
PAY = $2.99
Get back a $3 RR
FINAL COST = FREE!

But here’s what I plan on doing….I plan on going to Walmart, along with your Walgreens ad (though Walmart is required to have close-competitor ads, if I’m not mistaken) to get a price match. Since the Walgreens ad clearly states “Like paying$0.99” as the final cost, I assume Walmart will likely price adjust it to $0.99 and you won’t have to pay anything out of pocket after using the coupon. I HAVE NOT done this before and I cannot guarantee it will work but it’s worth a try if you have a Walmart near by!

P.S. I saw no where in Walmart’s Ad Match Price Policy that this would not be possible… let me know if you think otherwise!

(thanks @clippinwithclaire)

All I can say is that you DO NOT EVEN NEED THE AD at most stores. Employees have been instructed to price match on customers word.

    • Roland May 11, 2011, 5:38 PM

just a heads up tried this with a CVS ad and was not allowed to do it, they said they do not match reward points of any kind, now if you luck up and get a cashier that doesnt check then awesome 🙂 but just a heads up so you dont get up there and not know its coming if they do check 🙂 great deal though !

      Thanks for the heads up!

I’m going to try it anyways, just to see if it works!

New walmart price match policy states that you no longer need the ad. For more information about what they will allow in their price match policy go here….

How do you get the RR? Do you need a card for them to scan or something? Sorry, I’m new to all this =/

    • Roland May 11, 2011, 7:26 PM

No. You automatically get it with that specific purchase for that certain week.

  • perfektlys May 11, 2011, 7:30 PM

I do this all the time at my walmart. they never need the add and I always go with the “like paying” price. never had a problem

  • Katrina May 11, 2011, 7:37 PM

So if I go to buy the deodorant, will they let me use the RR for the item I’m buying? Or will the RR print out after I buy the item?

    • JDC May 11, 2011, 10:02 PM

you get the RR after you pay.

  • Brittne May 11, 2011, 8:35 PM

How do I print the coupon? I can never print from Unilever’s site. Anyone else have this problem? After I click “get selected coupons”, I can only print non-Unilever product coupons from RP.

The Walmart I go to does not Price Match the Rewards. But before they changed their coupon policy a month ago, they would let me. I think it just all depends on the store you go to.

  • myranda May 12, 2011, 11:02 PM

so how do they know if youre lying about the price match? thats crazy! I wanna try this! but then again i dont wanna deal with the embarrassment of getting all the deodorants i have q’s for (15) and them not price match it and then me leaving it with them… that would suck!

Let us know how it goes! I’d like to do that too: )

  • Mario May 14, 2011, 3:32 PM

    When you put: Pay=$2

    don’t you mean pay=$2.99?

    • Roland May 14, 2011, 6:53 PM

      Ooops! Thanks for catching that!

  • Mimi May 15, 2011, 10:59 AM

Hi everyone! I looked for the coupon on the website you provided but it says that it is for the body wash. Has anyone tried using it for the deodorant?

    • Tania May 15, 2011, 1:46 PM

I was wondering the same thing…

  • myranda May 15, 2011, 4:48 PM
