It’s official… Walgreens has a released a Coupon Policy.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Sale Items
- If you have a coupon (say $1.50 off) for a product selling for only $1, Walgreens will only accept the coupon for what the selling price is. Basically, you will only get $1 off and not $1.50 off.
- Multiple Coupons
- “When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s), unless prohibited by either coupon offer.” Basically, this is not new to us but you are allowed to use ONE manufacturer coupon, ONE Walgreens in-ad coupon and ONE Walgreens monthly coupon booklet coupon for the purchase of a single item.
- Buy One, Get One Free Coupons
- “When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.” Basically, if you are purchasing a certain item that is on sale for B1G1 FREE and you have 2 coupons for $2 off 1 of this certain item, you are allowed to use one coupon the on item that you buy and one coupon on the item that is “free”.
- Always remember, when a certain item is on sale for B1G1 FREE, you are allowed to use a Buy 1, Get 1 FREE coupon on this certain item that is one sale and receive both items for free. Basically, the store sale pays for the 1st free item and the manufacture coupon pays for the 2nd free item since the store get paid for each coupon they redeem.
- Register Rewards coupons
- No where in this coupon policy does it state that you are not allowed to use your RR right after you receive it. I’ve had issues with this many times. Basically, you can use your RR whenever you want too!
If your an avid Walgreens shopper, you might want to print this coupon policy for future reference in case you have any issues!

Just commenting on the RR Coupons, I recently used a RR coupon toward an item which would produce another RR coupon, however did not receive the new printed coupon. I was told by Walgreens that if you use a RR coupon toward an item that produces another RR coupon you will not receive the new reward. They claimed that on the coupon itself it states that it cannot be combined with any other offers. They should state this on the flier that if you use a RR coupon you are not applicable for this reward.
That's an incorrect statement. Your can use RR BUT it cannot be the same manufacturer you are purchasing. If your buying a Proctor & Gamble product, you cannot use a Proctor & Gamble RR. If the RR is from another manufacturer then it will spit out the RR.
