Vintage Coupons

Check out what Russ sent us;

“I found hundreds of these vintage coupons hidden in an old trunk that belonged to my grandmother. Well I can now see where I get my coupon clipping addiction from.  It must run in my family.  None of these coupons have expiration dates!?!  How great would it be to go back to the days when coupons never had expiration dates?  I see a lot of familiar name brands here and then some I have never heard of.  I never knew General Mills made a cereal called Buc Wheats or Kellogg’s Stars Cereal.  Neat stuff.  Anyone else have any to share? Maybe we can start a Coupon Museum!”

(thanks so much for sharing @Russ)

I found a whole bunch of old coupons that my mom gave me a year ago. I wish I could use them( some of them actually have a bar code on them)

This would be a really neat picture to blow up, frame and hang in your kitchen! I love vintage items! What an awesome find you found! Treasure it!

Can you still use these? On items that still exist of course. Not that it makes a huge difference now and days to save 5, 10, & 15 cents. But every little bit helps, right? 🙂

I use to buy clipped coupons years ago and still have alot of them. The are no expiration dates mostly from magazines. They can still be used IF you can find that product. I am still using mine to this day. I bought like 500 BooBerry cereal coupons then and still use them every halloween when they bring them out. They do not all have barcodes, but they can manually put in price… I have never been told anywhere I use them that they are bad.

Some pretty high value coupons there! 😉
Better to just save these for the coolness of them rather than USE THEM!

That is so cool!! Treasure them.

How cool!! I agree – even if I could use these, I wouldn’t. They’re way too cool to get rid of. You should frame them. =)

I have about 20 of them and I don’t want to use them….its like going back in time and mine are like printed on cardboard, sturdy material – the framing might be the thing for me. How many hands have handled those coupons..wow.

It would be interesting to see if they’re worth anything. Lots of vintage stuff is.

I would like to go back to the day when these were high-valued coupons too!! 🙂 I like the Cheer coupon where the product was in a Box!! Kinda like you can find the Borax soap in a box now!!

When my grandma passed away we found a huge stack of faded Cascade coupons with no expiration dates they were full free bottles they came with her dishwasher, That she never used and I used them for almost a year with no problems.

Our Smith’s store (very) occasionally offers a special coupon promotion…any coupons that are under $1 are worth $1. That gives a whole new meaning to those older .07 or .10 coupons, or the current .25 ones! I happened to have a bunch of those NED cpns and even though they don’t have a bar code, they still honored them. And I ran into another shopper during that coupon promotion who had a ton of the old ones and they used a BUNCH of them.

I think I would just frame them way too cool and as you said you no where you got the clipping from G-ma something to remember her by:)

  • Linda October 12, 2011, 1:11 PM

I remember Buc Wheats cereal and it was GOOOOOD too! Wish they would bring it back!

  • RGValleyGal October 12, 2011, 5:36 PM

I’d just keep them, maybe make a collage with them or…. if you need the money, try putting the lot on eBay. You’d be surprised what folks will buy for “antiquities”! And I do remember Buck Wheats! Wow….
