So last week, I was informed that our water would be turned off for about 4 hours due to repairs before the upcoming winter season. Waking up this morning, it hit me when I turned on my faucet this morning to wash my face that todays the day. But I forgot again when I tried washing my hands. Oh, I also forgot when I tried washing my apple. It’s been about 8 hours and our water is still turned off.
When it does finally come on, I know it’s one more thing I’m truly thankful for because not everyone is as fortunate as many of us are. We’d love to know, what are you thankful for today?
UPDATE: Water turned back on right after I published this post. Wow! 🙂

Eerily reminscent – we had a water pipe bust last week…..Water gushed for at least 3 hrs until we found it and turned it off. 3 days later we had full use of our well back – with 5 kids and 80 farm animals, I was very ready to have it back! We have an old well in the field with a handpump, but that gets old really quick! Hope you get yours back soon!
I’ve been unemployed for almost two years, and we lost our power for one week during hurricane Irene. Everyday, I am thankful that I have water, electricity, cable, Internet, my family, and Couponpro to help us save money during this difficult time. Thank you.
Electricity. Our power was off for 8 hours one day last week (we had a few hours of advance warning). Felt very Amish… 🙂 Glad to have it back on consistently.
Simply, thankful for people like you Ro who think of others in need when the majority of people would get frustrated or have a “Homer” moment. I’d lean toward the Homer moment; but this post is very thoughtful. Could you have been watching the national news, since this topic about poverty is being reported on with NBC Nightly News?
Well before I even saw what the post was about (I only saw the picture of the water dripping from the faucet) I thought about how grateful I am to have a new waterheater which we have been without for a week and a half…we have had to boil our water to put into the dishwasher and since that takes so long, at times had to wash them by hand because of the surplus of dishes (makes you appreciate the dishwasher and think about how many dishes you use in meal preperation). And yes, we also had to take cold showers and take our clothing somewhere else to do the washing (you don’t realize how much you do during the time you are waiting on the washing machine to finish until you have to “just wait on the washing machine”). I am also thankful for a Dad who knows how to put the hot water heater in and takes the time to do it without complaining and still has the energy left to thank me for the big meal I made just for him (because he worked so hard). I am also thankful that the LORD provided us with the money to buy the hot water heater, we thought because of the money situation we were going to have to wait a few weeks, but God always provides for His children and I am so Happy to be HIS! I AM ONE THANKFUL GIRL!
am thankful for my family and my mom bc she been there for me since my dad pass away in july 01 2010 so am thankful
this is so odd to see this post today, a friend of our family just had a moms worst nightmare happin to her, her baby boy snuck out side to play and got into a pond and drowned, I cannot even imagine what this mother and father is going through , so what I have to say I am MOST thankful for is my 2 wonderful children and I have to say everytime I have found myself getting ill with them today this just hits my heart and makes me think how thankful I am for them getting on my nerves!
I’m thankful for family and other people in my life who make life worth living, especially during these tough financial times. I’m also thankful for electricity, internet, water, and shelter. There are lots of things we take for granted.
I’m so thankful for those little moments. When your kid smiles at you after a rough morning; when your crazy day ends with your husband giving you a hug; when the right person calls at the perfect time…those little tiny miracles that happen all the time!
I am thankful for MY FAMILY . . .and most recently . . .THankful for a working MICROWAVE. Our microwave went dead . . completely. You never know how much you use it until you do not have it. I am also THANKFUL for GOOD WILL! Where we found a Large Capacity Panasonic Microwave (without turn tray) for a steal at $20. (We just used our turn tray from the dead one.)
