Toys R Us Layaway 2012

It’s official! Most Toys R Us stores are offering free layaway just in time for the busy holiday season. Through October 31st, 2012, Toys R Us is waiving the upfront fees that usually apply towards laway purchases including toys, video games and swing sets. It does NOT apply towards apply to clothing, drinks, diapers, batteries and “holiday-related items.” Restrictions apply. Layaway is still available after 10/31 but there will be a $5 fee. How Toys R Us Layway Works? Instead of paying the total price up of an item front, shoppers can secure the item by making a 20% down payment, as long as they pay 50% within 45 days and pay for the product in full by 12/16/12.

Walmart Layaway 2012

Yay! With the holidays right around the corner, Walmart has just announced details for their Walmart Layaway 2012 for the holiday season. The Walmart Christmas layaway program is back and available nationwide September 16 through December 14, 2012. The layaway at Walmart will give families an extra month to shop and stretch their paychecks further this holiday season.

Here are a few details:

• New layaway features at Walmart include: An expanded list of eligible categories, including small home appliances and select sporting goods such as basketball goals, trampolines and large exercise equipment. Customers can also use layaway for a broad selection of electronics, toys and jewelry.
• Early layaway access for shoppers who like their local Walmart store on Facebook. Customers simply need to sign up on their local Walmart Facebook page beginning August 28 to be able to start their layaway two days early on Sept. 14.
• A full refund of the layaway open fee ($15) given on a Walmart gift card for customers who make their final payment.
• A down payment of 10 percent or $10, whichever is greater, is required and is applied to the purchase.
• Individual items must be priced $15 or more, and the total layaway purchase must be at least $50.
• If the order is cancelled or not paid in full, the open fee is not refunded; however, no additional cancellation fee will be charged.
