Yay! Starting today, October 17, 2011, Walmart stores nationwide are offering the connivence of layaway, so you’ll be able to purchase the gifts your family and friends really want, without emptying out your pockets before the holidays come around.

Here are the basics:

• Eligible Items Toys, Electronics and fine Jewelry departments
• Down Payment 10% of total purchase price.
• Service Charge $5
• Minimums Total purchases must be over $50. Each item must be $15 or more. (Lawyaway applies to items purchase in stores only; does not apply to online purchases.)
• Location Layaway are placed and picked up at Walmart.com desk in your local store by 12/16/11. Payments can be made in-store at any Walmart register by 12/16/11, as well.
