I work in a supermarket and we don't allow you to use a coupon on a free item only on the item you bought. Most places are the same that I shop at.
I always use dollar off amounts on fee items at my local Walgreens, Target, Kmart, Walmart and Tops.
My Walgreens wont allow a coupon on the free item… only on the one you are purchasing because they will actually take the sale price and split it so you will be paying $1.50 a pack so they may not let you use the $2 off either since it is more than the item???
Publix will allow this!
I went to my local Walgreens (springville, ut). I grabbed 4 packages priced at $4.99. I got 2 free with the in-store sale, then gave the cashier 4 of the $2 off coupons. My total came to $2.27 for all 4 packages. Thanks! I totally scored on this deal!
