So I’m sure some of you remember my January 25th, 2010 post titled “OREO: FREE Package for First 150,000 at 3PM ET TODAY!“. This was a huge and successful giveaway on the part of Kraft Foods but the only thing is that many people, including myself, did not receive the FREE Package of Oreo coupon. If you read my March 2nd, 2010 post titled “OREO: FREE Package for First 150,000 UPDATE!” Kraft offered everyone who signed but did NOT receive, another chance to request their FREE Package of Oreo coupon.
Forward to June 8th, 2010, and the following letter (Dated: June 3, 2010) which I received in my mailbox today:
In my defense, I remember this offer very well because it was a huge giveaway. I did sign up when it was first announced and then I followed up by signing up again when the new link was released for those who had not received their FREE Package of Oreo coupon. I’m kind of disappointed because if it was a “computer or internet error,” I’d hope that Kraft would take responsibility and still offer me the FREE Package of Oreo coupon as promised for signing up.
Any thoughts? Did anyone else receive this letter?

Yes I just received the letter with the dollar off coupon in the mail today. Receiving a dollar off coupon is not the promised *free package*.
I got the same letter in the mail. I was very dissapointed with Kraft. I guess I did get a $1 off a package of oreo cookies. Not my free package but a little bit off I guess.

I signed up on both of those occasions as well, and got no free Oreos, and havent gotten this letter either. Maybe I will?

Well, if you look at it from Kraft's point of view, I'm certain they had people that tried to get it both times and people that didn't actually sign up the first time try to get it the second time. They only had a certain number to give away and can't really prove whether it's their fault in each case or someone just trying to rip them off. I can understand the frustration though. (I don't work for Kraft nor am I affiliated with them in anyway. I just try to look from both points of view.) At least they did send you something since they can't afford to send multiple free coupons! Right?
I also signed up twice and nothing…. just a bunch of jerks… will not buy any oreos!!
I did the second link and my coupon was sent…that is so weird
Never got it either. I have yet to receive the letter as well. Bate & switch.
I GOT MY FREE COUPON
I actually got the coupon, but i do remember the page having issues and having to somehow look at the code and follow where it was going and filing in a form on an oddly loaded page to get them, so of course they had issues!
I've had frustration trying to get something "Free" when everyone else was also trying at the same time. However, in this instance, Kraft came through for me. In my opinion, they have been very generous with the opportunities for savings they offer.

Yep… got my letter yesterday. I know I was supposed to get the free coupon though. But what can you do? I would certainly hope any giveaway like this would be better run in the future. Obviously it was mis-managed somehow if so many people didn't get what they were supposed to get! But it's not like I lost any money or anything, though I am disappointed!
I got the letter & Coupon, too. They're really going to get a lot of bad PR because of this.
Yep — I also got the measley $1 off Q instead of the promised FREE Q! Very disappointing!

I got that same exact letter. How disappointing! I think they probably sent EVERYONE one instead of the free coupon! 🙁

Yes! I received the SAME letter and coupon and I know I signed up properly, too! 🙁 Bummer — I hate when companies do not honor their promos or bail out just because they couldn't foresee the huge participation. They should really prepared better!
I never got the free coupon and wont use the $1 coupon if I get one. But my local newspaper had free Oreo coupons in last Sunday's paper so I got 2 free packages from that.
