Oh what a surprise… Remember the MACY’S: Revo Rolling Suitcase for ONLY $9 Shipped + 5% Cash Back post (no longer available) which was posted on February 22nd?! Well, it was certainly a price mistake at $1 since it was suppose to cost a whopping $139.99… and thats the sale price. Over the past few days, many of you have emailed me, left comments on Facebook and tweeted that you’re orders were cancelled. I still had hope since I didn’t receive one but like everyone else, my order was cancelled this morning (3/2):
We’re sorry to inform you that due to a system error macys.com incorrectly listed the price of the 28″ Logic Rolling Upright Revo Suitcase at $1.00 instead of the correct sale price of $139.99.
Be assured that your account will not be charged for the canceled Revo Suitcase or that you will receive an appropriate credit or refund promptly, if due.
As noted in our pricing policy, while we do our best to ensure our prices are accurate, errors occasionally occur, and we reserve the right to correct those errors, particularly obvious errors like the one that occurred in this case.
I apologize if I got anyones hopes up but with amazing deals like this (or price mistakes), cancellations are always expected. On to the next amazing deal… 😉
(thank you to all the readers for keeping me updated)

Mine got canceled this morning too 🙁
Shame on Macy’s for not honoring their commitments. Ridiculous. They should have eaten it, fired the idiot that made the mistake and learned their lesson from there.
I must admit I was sad to get that email too – I had ordered a plum color. What about that $20 off $200 order coupon?! Sad.
Looks like we all got canceled. What a crappy offer for the inconvenience.
20.00 off 200.00. You got to be kidding me. Especially since a few minutes earlier I get a general Macy’s email offering 20.00 off 150.00 and that’s for everyone.
I agree that they should eat it and reprimand the individual who screwed up.
I agree, on to the next deal… I actually feel bad for companies, because computer mistakes happen, and they can’t prepare for how quickly a “Deal aka price mistake” passes around all the blogs and sends thousands of customers their way, so in the case of this suitcase, if several hundred or a thousand people bought it, they financially would take a HUGE loss. Since they apologized and took responsibility, no need for hard feelings. I’d rather get an apologetic email cancellation than no word from a company at all!
I use to work for macys and the get the prices so wrong they got sued for millions. At the register it says if you ring up for the wrong price and the item is more then what advertised for or marked then they give you $10 off your purchace plus adjust the price.
Yes, mistakes happen. As long as human beings push the keys on a PC, the ‘human error’ element will always be. My real issue isn’t that I didn’t get my luggage for $1.00, it’s the lack of ‘doing right by the customer’ by Macy’s. If smarter people higher up the Macy’s chain gave it more thought, they would have realized that this could have been a real opportunity to solidify consumer loyalty. Perhaps offering those who were turned down on the super $1.00 luggage deal a truly amazing concession (i.e. 50% off any item online, etc.). Twenty dollars off of my purchase of $200 or more is an even bigger smack in the face! Congratulations Macy’s… you just lost another customer – albeit a customer who simply tried to get a deal on a suitcase! As ridicuously priced as those suitcases already are… seriously. Greed loses customers, not typos.
