Extreme Couponing logo

It’s baaaack… The highly anticipated season premier of Extreme Couponing will air on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 9/8c only on TLC. When a premier 1-hour episode aired last December, the show drew an impressive 2.1 million viewers and had everyone buzzing. TLC was so impressed that they have ordered 12 new episodes for our enjoyment. Yipppe!

I happened upon the episode while working out one day, and I really, really wanted to see more. I’m excited for the season premier!

Am I the ONLY one that doesn’t see a problem with this show?? All it takes is a few of the bean counters (my pet name for accountants) at each company to watch these episodes and figure out how to rewrite the rules, so we ALL get hosed (does one coupon per purchase, per day, per household mean anything?? It sure doesn’t sound fun)

I am an obsessed couponer and saver who always goes for the best possible deal (free) on as many as I can without hording, by following the rules, but with the downturn in the economy and the more people increasingly using coupons, the worse the bottom line is at retailers or manufacturers and the potential for them to change the rules. If you don’t think that this show has the potential to ruin it for the rest of us, you are wrong.

I’m going to complain to TLC; I can’t be alone in this!!

I agree with you. As interesting as this was it didn’t seem practical but it did worry me too. It got me to start saving but I am no hoarder. I wondered whats the point of all the pasta (all it takes is one box with pantry moths and all that food is no good). I think this may cause some changes that will hurt everyone too. I think they need help with shopping addiction, not praise. Greed is no good. I’m sure that family’s can learn to save and those who have no jobs or low income will benefit to learn to always shop smart, but when is it too much? I hope they are all giving and sharing.

Greed is all I can say is greed, I feel sorry for these people and their greedy disorder. I’m just thankful that greed is not this shadow in my life. I pray that I don’t ever have to endure the measures of extreme couponing and overstocking my pantries like its for the end of the world.

They really should consider donating all that excess overstock in their house vs. Making a reality show about it.

Can I say AWESOME!!! I was using coupons before but not “EXTREMING” it. I walked into the store the other day and caught the bug! I ended up saving $182.29 on my grocery bill in one week! I bought 2 things of Edy’s ice cream and Glide Pro Floss for $0.34 . I am no where near where these ladies are, but let me say a big THANK YOU to TLC and for these special people 🙂
