My puppies are my biggest carpet mess during the holidays and any other time of the year.
My children’s kiddie cocktails seem to get spilled every year!
The messiest carpet disaster we get in our home is caused by people accidentally dropping their holiday desserts! Whether it be chocolatey, creamy, or crumbly, the desserts end up falling on our carpet (and such a headache to clean!)
Having the dog get into the trash can and putting thanksgiving scraps all over.
My cats are the biggest problems throughout the year but someone always, always, always winds up spilling a full glass of eggnog at least once every holiday season. The real stuff too, which winds up looking and smelling like baby spit up. Gross!
It never fails at least one family member tends to drop their whole plate.. such a mess to clean up gravy, cranberry, and mashed potatoes..
Someone always spills a glass of wine! Did I mention it’s usually me?
With all of my nieces and nephews running around, one (or two!) full plates of food will end up on the carpet…
Cranberry sauce and stuffing. Sticky, staining, crumbly mess!
Wine on carpet =(
hope i win !!
My baby spilling juice and milk on my carpet in the living room. Yah we all know how bad rotten milk smells!! YUCK!
My messiest disaster during the holidays is dropping cranberry sauce on the carpet
Our messiest was my son and baby daughter got into food fight and all the cake and mashed strawberries got on the carpet. Later both started playing with it and it was the stain-est, most ugliest scene I have ever seen. I still sometimes go back and try to clean those stains.
I am already your biggest fan on facebook n twitter. Thanks for all ur great work.
My toddler trying to “help” by pouring red wine….all over the carpet.
The messiest carpet disaster for me was when the family and a few others planned on a buffet style dinner on the weakest table known to man.
Gravy… On the carpet. The stain goes away, but the scent stays for a long time.
Cranberry sauce or gravy especially since my carpet is a real light beige.
For sure always one of the kids dropping something, lucky we have the dog to clean some of it up!!
My son loves to draw, paint, color ect. and Santa always brings him new supplies. Every year he makes me the most beautiful pictures, but that also means tons of paint and marker to clean out of the carpet! What we do for our kids…..lol!
Sadly, when one of the kids got sick 🙁
My dad spilled the entire box of oil from a turkey deep fryer all over the kitchen floor one time. took my mom a week to get all the oil off the floor.
Dirty shoes coming in and out
cranberry juice cocktail
gravy mashed potatoes sunk into my carpet! super messy and gooey!
My daughter spilling juice and food on the floor.
What is your messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday? I would have to say the playdoh that everyone buys for me son, which he somehow always gets in my carpet.. Oh the days when they are small…
Our messiest disasters have always been kids sneaking with sweets and thus dropping on the carpets…chocolate and sticky aren’t easy to clean!
The occasional food spills are my carpets enemy.
pumpkin pie..whipped cream
When my mastiff snagged the turkey off the table and ran through the house with it while trying to avoid being caught
The red frosting in Christmas Oreo’s does a job on my carpet!!!
Wine being spilled on my pretty carpet! I cringe just thinking about it!
I think the biggest holiday mess we have had on the carpet was the year we dropped the turkey off the platter on the carpet… Eww, what a mess!
My cat got stressed and poooed on the floor…
My son when he was little got ahold of the cranberry sauce and then smushed it into the carpet.
Baby spit up all of the time, not just at the holidays!!
Gravy. Definitely gravy. And I “like” you on FB! :o)
my messiest carpet problem happened just 2 days ago.. we had painters come and paint the inside of our home for the holidays and the 1 day job turned into 3 days..which was bad enough but the painter spilled 2 gallons of paint on my carpet 🙁
My biggest disaster was last year. Between one kid puking all over he living room(Sick child), dad, spilling red wine in the formal dining room and family from out of town bringing their outdoor dogs INSIDE my home.
My messiest disaster was avocado smeared all over the carpet!
Grape Juice!!
My messiest thing is my DOG! When it rains and snows, he comes inside with the MUDDIEST paws i’ve ever seen, i think he must wallow and dig in the puddles! And we rent our house so i am constantly going through tons of carpet cleaner and freshner! I can;t wait to try the fabreeze!
When the kids drop something and try to clean it up thinking they are helping, yet only making it worse
Hmm I would have to say Christmas cookie crumbs everywhere!!
Cranberry sauce all over a white carpet, no fun.
OMG!! Last year was the worst. My dog is highly allergic to any bird products so I informed everyone that came thru the door, DO NOT GIVE THE DOG ANY TURKEY. One Bite will make her sick, like no mans business. Well just as we were sitting down to eat, we began to hear the regurgitation sound coming from the other room! I yelled O NO and I grabbed the dog to run out the door with her and she BARFED in mid air, projecting it like it was a missle, unfortunately the missle hit the table!!! Dog was not the only one who barfed that day.
My husband and I both hunt – so during Thanksgiving we trek throug the woods – then sadly, track it through the house!
My messiest disaster was when my daughter decieded to take her mashed potatoes and start throwing them all over the room and it landing all over my rug and in my hair!
My biggest stain would have to be my little girl wanting to be a big girl and running across the living room with either a plate of food or a cup of juice, which with my luck would be red.
Sauce on the floor from lasagna on Christmas! You know how toddlers are 🙂
I “like” you on facebook
Cranberry Sauce on a light colored rug! Ughh!
Our kids make the biggest mess with the floors year around with spilling drinks and food and tracking in grass and mud and anything else you can think of.
Definitely the spot under the kids table!
My dog…..she always seems to like to pee on the floor in the kids bedrooms. We have come to the conclusion that she is mad they are not sneaking her turkey day dinner under the table 😉 (Is there anything that will take that smell out???)
Red wine! And apple juice…apple juice is terrible for carpets!!
Cheese cake, Red wine and a nasty fall down the stairs.
Our messiest Christmas was when my mom brought her dogs over to my aunts house and one of them did a doodoo on the floor next the all the presents!!!!!!
The messiest carpet disaster I’ve had (so far!) was a collision of a 5 year old with a plate of food running into an adult with a glass of red wine, both ending up on my floor!
At lease one of the kids usually ends up dropping their plates of food would be our messiest holiday carpet disaster.
I have a ton of biggest messes lol but the best I would think would be my 2 year old daughter with the cranberry sauce or the fact that my 70lb german shorthaired pointer thinks she can take plates off the table and eat them on the carpeting… can you say gravy everywhere!! Would LOVE to win this Febreeze carpet care is amazing!!!!
My biggest holiday carpet mess is when my husband cooks, and then share’s turkey bones with my cat who drags the bone EVERYWHERE, makes a huge mess!
my messiest carpet disaster! red wine all over the carpet. UGH! i was a stressed out disaster!
i am subscribed to your daily emails.
Messiest thing ever spilled on carpet during the holidays at my house had to have been the pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes thanks to my toddler who was trying to help out mom. Gotta love kids right. 🙂
My daughter and her friend colored her hair and got it on the carpet…Ugg so mad!
i like you on FB
When my daughter decided to have a popcorn parade! Cleaned like a crazy woman! 🙂
My cats are the messiest!
Biggest mess was a magnum of Chianti on my beige rug
Someone spilled their whole plate on the carpet which consisted of cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing and turkey. It was not very fun to clean up! 🙂
i am following you on twitter! 🙂
the messiest carpet disaster i’ve had is my big black lab knocking over some of the dishes on our table when we were not looking.. talk about a mess!!
The messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving holiday was we just finished eating and I cleaned the table and put out our pumpkin pie and bananna cream pie. I steped away for about 15 minutues to entertain, when I came back my niece found the pies 🙂 decided to scoop out both pies rub them down all over the table, the chairs, and finally ALL over the carpet, and then top it off the mess she made on the carpet she started doing snow or I should say pie angels!
My kids get pop or liquid on the carpet. I don’t like picking liquids off the carpet.
Our messiest mess would be the many children we have in our lives. Nieces, nephews and our daughter. They tend to have a path of destruction wherever they go.
Wine spilled on my expensive area rug
Messiest holiday disaster is when my two cousins went to grab the last roll and they ended up knocking the entire table over along with all the dishes. Potatoes, gravy, butter, oil, cranberry.. that was a fun mess!
The first year we had our German Shepherd- he was about 4 months old at Thanksgiving. We were scurrying around to get dinner all on the table and call everyone out. He could not resist the smells wafting his way and proceeded to put his front paws up on the edge of our dining room table. I shooed him down- and he got down right away. Too bad his front claws caught in the crocheted tablecloth of my grandmothers. Needless to say- we started hollering to get him to stop and he just kept right on going- proceeding to pull off pies and plates and cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. Luckily- the turkey was not yet on the table – so we did manage to have most of our Thanksgiving dinner!!!
Red drinks of any kind are the messiest stains!
Cranberry sauce on the carpet!
Red Koolaid!
My dogs tattacking the turkey when our backs were turned, it was all over the carpet…. then they threw it back up from scarfing it down. While cleaning, I reached up for the OxyClean bottle…knocked a bottle of red wine over. All over the carpet. Needless to say, we put down hardwood flooring the following spring. ARGH.
messiest is probably just someone spilling their whole plate on the floor trying to make their way to the table to eat…..or wine of course…. :))
I would have to say cranberry sauce and grape juice spilled on the carpet1
cranberry sauce, white carpet, 1 year old..need I say more:)
the messies one i had is where my cousin decided to get mad and throw his food down off the table then pitch a fit and proceed to stomp and mash it into the carpet…. i was soooo mad!!!
Our messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday will probably be someone spilling a glass of wine or juice! It happens every year…
My messiest carpet disasters during the holidays are red wine and chocolate.
My kids spilling hot chocolate, often with melted marshmallows in it makes for a very sticky mess on the carpet
I am a facebook fan.
Our messiest has been the dogs being fed Thanksgiving leftovers behind our back- the diarrhea was terrible and the relatives that fed our dogs learned a lesson.
I like you on facebook, and my biggest mess is helping mom with the dishes after a holiday meal. Even though I am married, we still eat most holiday meals with our families to save time for us.
The messiest carpet disaster of the holiday season would have to be the spilled plates of cranberry sause, eggs and chocolate pie
Messiest was back a few years ago I was getting my turkey out of the oven and dropped it spilling turkey, broth and grease all over my kitchen floor!!
Please pick me for the AMEX gift card!!! 🙂
What is your messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday?
One Thanksgiving, two of my German Shepherds got into the turkey and gravy and later threw up on the carpets. I had to get out my steam cleaner right away and clean up the mess before it set in. Not something I wanted to do on Thanksgiving day, but I was most thankful that my dogs were fine after their gustatorial delight of a meal!
Messiest holiday disaster? An entire gravy boat spilled on the dining room carpet :-/
Drop a bowl of red velvet cake mix on the carpet. took weeks to get it all out.
Cranberry sauce… ’nuff said.
What is your messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday?
My messiest carpet disaster would definitely have to be spilled cranberry sauce on the carpet.
Subscribed, still liking, and last year my son decided he would get overly excited about the pumpkin pie and do a “victory dance” with it…needless to say, he dropped it and it went ALL over the floor! So…no pumpkin pie dancing for him this year! Lol.
Bits and pieces of Thanksgiving dinner all around and on the floor!!!!!!!!!!!
When my kids shove each other with drinks or food in there hands and it ends up on the floor
My biggest holiday carpet disaster was when one of our friends was attempting to carry an overloaded plate of food and a full glass of red wine to the table..Somehow, something happened and the plate and the glass of wine ended up all over the carpet..Red wine and gravy are not a nice combination when it comes to carpet!!
With 3 kids age 4 and under, the staining possibilities are endless! 😉 Desserts seem to be the biggest offender during the holidays in our home though. Any type of stain remover is a must in a home with children!
my messiest would be when my 2 yr old gorge herself in all the thanksgiving dinner! Gets allllllllllll over my floor!
At my house, someone always spills wine.
My Messiest disaster was not from the food but the kids running in and out all day ! It was completly muddy outside from all the rain we had the day before ! grrrr… But we did have a great Thanks Giving !
Usually a mess from one of the dogs after being fed too much table food. Yuck!!
Ground in stains are the hardest; like cheese and gravy!
My Messiest Carpet disaster was when my 2 year old thought it was fun to play with the cheese ball and rubbed it all in my carpet! It was like clay stuck in the shag! Haha!
The messiest was the first Thanksgiving after getting 2 puppies for the house. My brother was sneaking them bites of turkey and stuffing…well you know what happens to 10 weeks old puppies and food they have never had before…out both ends all over out brand new carpet. Thanks little brother…Can look back and laugh about it now
I have 4 kids and they are my hardest mess to clean up! It never fails that after playing football outside they track the mud, dirt and grass into the house.
The puppy ( great dane, 10 months old) grabbed the tablecloth and pulled the cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, butter ….basically everything except the turkey onto the carpet at my mother in law’s house! Needless to say, we were told t host it at OUR house next time!
The messiest is when someone drops a morsel of food on the carpet and our dog gets the food and then licks the carpet to death. We have lots of slobber marks that need to be cleaned afterwards.
Wine on carpet!!
I dropped Caramel and Hot fudge and ice cream onto the floor and accidently stepped in it when I jumped up to get it cleaned up.
I follow on Facebook as Vanessa Thompson Vazquez. Last year I dropped a bottle of red wine on the tile floor, it stained the grout and got on the tan carpet.
It would have to be when the kiddo dumped a whole plate of cranberry sauce on my mom’s carpet.
Christmas: My cousin was dancing in her white blouse, really drunk and I had a glass of wine. She bumped into me, and i spilled the wine all over here (red). She thin tripped and knocked a few glasses out of my Aunt and Uncle’s hands.
Very funny!!
would have to say Christmas because of all the cookies and goodies that get dropped on the carpets
Thanksgiving it’s unrelated to food…mud from hunting boots! The guys hunting in the morning and while they’re off the rest of the week.
Christmas, depending on who is around, ranges from snowy/dirty shoe prints to the kids’ paints/markers.
Too many but i think the worse was spilling a glass of wine in the carpet(red wine)
My biggest holiday carpet disaster was a plate full of food upside down on the floor.
My little yorkie puppy is the worst on my carpets all year round. But a plate of food or a glass of wine is often a problem also.
Holidays sometimes bring out the best in people, and sometimes the worst.
Unfortunatly one year for a family member, it was the latter. They got so upset they tried to turn the fridge on end & ended up dumping all the food out all over the carpet! Yikes, that was a mess 😛 Thank goodness we can laugh about it now 😀
Gravy spill
In 2002, was the year the messiest disaster by far. Our power went out while everyone was eating Thanksgiving dinner and my sister put her plate on the couch to get something to drink and my Grandma sat on it. To make matters worse, she stood up and started walking and the plate fell off her butt onto the floor. Cranberry, mashed potatoes, turkey and a roll on the floor… And I distinctly remember my sister screaming “Her pants sucked up all the gravy!” A huge mess and a whole lot of laughs! 🙂
The messist spill that I’ve had was having to clean up cranberry sauce!
I actually had mine this morning. I was in our holiday company meeting at a mattress store and I had a bottle of Dr. Pepper 10 in my hand. I adjusted my seating and spilled it. That may not seem bad, but I was sitting on one of the bed’s that they are selling when it spilled…on the bed. This bed was a high end set priced at $3999. I couldn’t get up right away to clean it and so it sat there for a few minutes before I can get something to clean it up. When I did, it wouldn’t all come out so now they will have to reduce the price majorly and take the hit on it. Granted to say, my boss did not seem too happy with me. The other stuff did not get it out and I honestly thought about Febreeze to clean it up because it is what I use at home.
I know that this is a bed and not the carpet, but I think that the loss of money on the bed sale is probably the most expensive holiday mess!!!
It has to be when one of my kids ate too much for thanksgiving dinner.
I have 8 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 Conure Bird. I really need febreze in my house!
Messiest stain was red wine spill all over our light colored carpet during last years Christmas eve dinner at my place. We can still see a little of the stain still.
When my son knocked the cranberry sauce on my brand new white carpet :'(
when my 2 1/2 year old dumped a whole bowl of cranberry jelly on the rug and proceeded to stomp on it last Thanksgiving. Took forever to get out, well it still hasn’t completely come out.
My messiest thanksgiving disaster was when the dog got into my garbage can after we cooked the turkey. We had left to go to my parents and he tipped the garbage can over and got into some turkey bones. Needless to say we had trash everywhere and beau (our dog) threw up lots a times afterwards! Has to go to the vet and have surgery 🙁 poor guy!! Biggest mess and most costly thanksgiving ever!
My messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday season was a WHOLE 2 liter of Coca Cola being dropped to the floor by a guest…Everyones mouth and eyes were wide open but none of us ran to it and the whole 2 liter emptied out! *life*
Sticky sweet potato hand prints on all the walls 🙂
Messiest carpet disaster . . . red wine!
When everyone wears their shoes in the house and tracks dirt on my carpets! Especially if it has been snowing and it’s a wet/muddy dirty. YUCK! It always takes forever to get out!
My 3 year old definitely makes the biggest messes! If he doesn’t like the food that I serve, he’ll casually push it off his plate, on to the table, then flick it onto the floor. I swear it feels like he gets more food on my carpets than he does in his tummy!
Cranberry sauce on the carpet that got unnoticed and ground in.
My biggest carpet disaster was when my daughter and her cousins thought it would be fun to take the hersheys chocolate syrup and use it to draw pictures on my carpet. It covered the living room, family room, up 2 sets of stairs through the hallway and into her room! Boy was that a fun day!
Lots of company makes a mess….
Beets and wine on white carpet
Cat pee of course!
My messiest….I would have to say when my children and the dogs go out to play in the yard after Thanksgiving meal and get covered in mud and coming flipping all over everything, getting it all over everything, and making the house smell like dirt and wet dog. Just a frustrating mess!!
With three boys we have numerous carpet disasters throughout the holidays! Sparkling red grape juice is not easy to get out of the carpet!
My messiest stain was when the dog pulled a full tray of corned beef and cabbage off the table. Of course the glass tray broke and the dog kept eating the corned beef and shards of glass making it one bloody mess!
My kids were the messiest. They got 1 bite in the mouth and 2 bites on the floor.
I have a 9-month-old right now. I’m sure a good bit of his Thanksgiving dinner will end up in the dining room carpet.
My dog urinating on the carpet when she gets excited because we have guests over.
Burning the Sweet Potatoes 🙁
A whole gravy boat fell off the dining room table and hit the floor. I thought the stains would never come out of the carpet:-(
The Italian Dressing is supposed to go on the salad, NOT the carpet!! ewww! worst mess ever! : /
my kids did all disaster when they spill all juice on the carpet!
My kiddos, husband and dog have a knack for spilling things on the carpet and not always cleaning it up right away.
I subscribe to your e-mails =) dessert is always leaving its mark on my carpet
My messiest thanksgiving mess was when I was taking the turkey dinner out of the oven when my cat decided to run between my feet and I dropped the turkey and stuffing on the floor. Thank goodness Lubys was open!
My dad IS a carpet disaster! He is always spilling things on the carpet and couch. Last year, he dropped his plate on the carpet. We still love him! 🙂
I “like” you on FB too 😉
One of my kids ALWAYS spills juice on my carpet
My biggest holiday mess is baking night with the ladies. We get flour, sugar and chocolate everywhere and have a blast doing it! I would love to win! Thanks CouponPro
red mud brought in while bringing the Christmas tree in and the sap from the trunk of tree that was sat on beige carpet. Disaster!!!! NOT HAPPY
Last year was the worst Thanksgiving ever! Hubby had just returned home from Afghanistan, and I wanted everything to be perfect. The day started out pretty good. Got the turkey in the roaster, and other things cooking. The house was filled with all the wonderful smells of a Thanksgiving day. Family would be here soon, and finishing up last minute things to be done. Took the turkey out of the oven, set it out on the counter. Went upstairs to change before family got here. Told my hubby to keep an eye on things. I knew I should have stepped in front of his game (xbox call of duty), to be sure he really heard me. In the meantime my neighbor knocked on the door, so Daniel paused his game, answered the door, stepped outside to talk to our neighbor. So came the perfect opportunity for our “Scrappy” dog to move in for the kill. In his sneaky stealth like manner, he swooped in and stole the turkey!!! The turkey disappeard into the garage, gravy all over the floor, and a few other items that had been in his way as he grabbed his prize, hit the floor. I came downstairs, and to my horror found all that was left of our dinner!!! LOL let’s just say that Daniel, and Scrappy were in the dog house that night! We did manage to salvage some of dinner, we may not of had turkey, and it may not have been the “perfect” day that I wanted. But we were all together as a family.
The kids table! They get all the adult food….which means spills spills spills! And since its a low table the dog usually has his paw in the spilling sometime during the night.
My messiest carpet disaster during the holiday season is cranberry sauce being unknowingly dropped on the carpet and subsequently being ground into the carpet as people repeatedly walk on it. A close second is being so busy that no one remembers to take the dog out and having that smelly mess to clean up.
The reheated canned beets spilled onto the floor. That stain never came out, until a replacement came in the next summer.
The messiest carpet was when the sink backed up and leaked behind the dishwasher and sink onto the carpet. Did not notice it for a period of time because a chair sits in front. It started to mold and left a hugh stain!
Our worst carpet disaster was when the dog tried to get up on the table to eat what we had left behind. She pulled half the tablecloth down with all the dishes of food that were on top. So we spent the night scrubbing up wine, pie, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and who knows what else. Now we always make sure the table is totally cleared right after thanksgiving dinner is finished.
My 2 year old … enuf said LOL
The greasy spots that get left on the floor once the dog steals your food and runs in the corner to mack away on it.
My 3 children!
the messiest was actually the carpet in my van. I was taking turkey and gravy into my daughter’s classroom for a class party and the gravy spilled all over the rug!
i HAD THE JUST GOT THE TURKEY OUT OF THE OVEN AND I WALKED INTO THE LIVING ROOM AND THE NEXT THING THAT I HEARD WAS BAM CRASH MY 2 YEAR OLD PULLED THE TURKEY DOWN ABOUT 2 HOURS BEFORE EVERY ONE WAS GOING TO BE HERE SO LAST YEAR WE HAD HAMBUGERS INSTEAD OF A TURKEY ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP
The messiest would be the cranberry sauce!
I brought a beautiful turkey to the table on a carving board for the head of the house to carve. Smiles abound as everyone anticipates the L-Tryptophan-laden morsels soon to be piled on their plates. In goes the knife…and out oozes red juices. The turkey isn’t fully cooked.
I’m mortified. Twelve people sit around the table, smiles turned to sighs, and all the side dishes sit there. Then I step away and the turkey slides off the carving board on to my white carpet.
Worst day of my life.
It’s gotta be the time we had a gingerbread house decorating party and there were two dozen hyped up kids with cany and icing and most of it didnt end up on the houses!!! What didnt end up in their mouth ended up on the carpet, couches, chairs, table you naem it!!!! Messy but so much fun!!!
Candle wax and gravy spills!
Red wine!!! Oh, wait! Chocolate everywhere!!!
My messiest holiday is the muddy boots/shoes that come in the house. We usually have rain and mucky pathways to the house.
By far the messiest thing that ends up on the carpet during the holidays is the from the kids plates. It never fails that one or two(or all of them) will spill their plate and then walk through it. It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a little mess.
The worst was chocolate cream pie on a two week old white rug at my sister in laws… First off, who puts white fluffy carpet in a house with kids, and second of all who lets kids eat chocolate cream pie in that room??? Anyway I got yelled at for wiping it up when it was suppose to be daubbed!!! I personally have no rugs in my house, because messes wipe up much easier off wood and kids have accidents… Heck, even adults have accidents… Happy Thanksgiving Ro and all!!!
Anywhere my kids go!!! I have 4 active boys between the ages of 4-11 yrs old. They play hard and always leave a mess behind them!!!
chocolate spills…
my carpet getting dirty ALL the time from the rain and then the snow!!!!!
Red juice on the carpet.
My messiest time was after chritmass cleaning up after my kids eating pies.
Definitely the kids table, and them sneaking there food to our dogs, so they can get desert and go play. Holidays are great! 🙂 Hope everyone has a Great Thanksgiving!
I will NEVER forget this one!! 2 yrs ago I spent 7.5 hours preparing this Awsome Thanksgiving dinner…Turkey, Prime Rib, Potatoes the works..I pulled the ribs from the oven and set them on the counter, and go grab something from the other room. When I walked Back towards the kitchen..I noticed that there were dark brown marks on the carpet (My carpet was light tan) Leaving a trail. I followed the trail and there I saw My Dog..Mowing down on the prime rib..NOM NOM NOM. I then began to try and scrub the sans out before they set..AND ENDED UP BURNING THE DINNER ROLLS! Sooo NOT ok! LOL
When we had carpet in our living room it would be full of sprinkles and decorations from decorating the cookies. When people seen pictures they always thought my table was a mess – what they didn’t see was the floor!! Ugh!
The messiest Thanksgiving I’ve had was when I took a pie out of the toaster oven and half of it spilt all down the floor, the dog ate it up and made lovely dirty paw prints all over the house. Was a good laugh though.
My messiest carpet disaster was when our dog chewed on an ink pen that we were using to mark packages. The blue ink was everywhere! We were able to clean it, though without a trace of a stain!
I have 4 small kiddos and a husband…enough said! LOL
I feel that I am constantly trying to clean my carpet, and I live in WI so this time of year means mud & snow being tracked in-whoo hoo! lucky me 🙂
My worst mess had to be when the pan I was going to make gravy in slipped out of my greasy fingers and fell, full of drippings onto my moms carpeted kitchen floor!!! I don’t even wanna think about that day!!! Or, how long it took to clean it up!
my dog is my biggest carpet mess!!
Once Thanksgiving my 10 year old niece ate so much Turkey, stuffing, chips and dip and who knows what else. She was as they say about turkeys “STUFFED” (hee-hee). Anyways, she then decided to eat quite a few of those mexican chili candies. Needless to say, not a good combination! Poor thing got sick all over my carpet and walls. It was horrible to clean up and we had guests over too. She learned very quickly that certain combinations of foods should not be eaten together. Thanks for letting me share! HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
Messiest carpet has to be when my daughter eats anything during the holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love her but man is she a big mess. =P
Thsi time of year in WI you never know what the weather will be. Usually not snow but rain so there is so much mud being brought in. Even if there is snow there’s not enough of it so it still is muddy.
With 2 children under 4 and a puppy … there is always a floor mess here. I think one of the worse was trying to get cranberry sauce out of my carpet!
my grandson knocked over a large container of fruit punch! What a mess on very light tan carpet! 🙁
My toddler makes the BIGGEST messes! Instead of saying “all done” like he knows he’s supposed to, he just throws his plate on the floor! Cranberry sauce+light carpet=mess!
Worst one was the gravy boat being dropped on the carpet.
Definately my husband trying to fix one of the countertop stools on the living room carpet and leaving huge grease stains!
My messiest holiday disasters always involve drinks. It never fails for someone to spill soda, or wine. Thank goodness for febreze’s carpet products. 🙂 Thank you for all the updates on deals and ways to save money. I follow your savings on FB, Twitter and now emails!
Red wine spilled on carpet…yuckkk. I subscribe via email.
My kids and cranberry sauce are my biggest disaster! EEK!
I had candles burning on wall sconces. One of the kids knocked it off the wall and got red candle wax all over the new carpet.
My house gets trashed every year because people walk thru the house without taking their shoes off! It’s horrible at Christmas because of the snowy/slushy/muddy mess!
My messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday always seems to be Holiday desserts. Somehow they always seem to fall onto the carpet or tile floor. The main culprit is usually ME!!! Last year the night before Thanksgiving, I had just finished baking a pumpkin pie, took it out of the oven to cool and smash! I dropped it – pumpkin custard & pie crust went everywhere – kitchen, dining room, tile, carpet, walls. What a mess to clean up! I couldn’t believe 1 pie would make such a huge mess. Needless to say, after that disaster and clean-up, Thanksgiving was a success and everyone had a great time – 1 pie short of dessert table of course! LOL. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to all!
There is always some guest that manages to spill a drink or worse!
My 6 month old who likes to grab mommy’s food and drinks and it ends up all over the floor.
endless dishes!!!
The messiest Christmas is when it rained a couple of days and guest were tracking in and out all over my carpet all day…
The messiest is when my kids eat spaghetti for dinner. Tomato sauce is the hardest to clean out of carpet (and clothes).
Uncle Joe’s rum balls!
The messiest was mud and water being tracked in after a heavy rain on Thanksgiving day. We had about 35 people for dinner that year and I thought the carpet would have to be replaced. Thankfully, we were able to get it cleaned with a commercial steam cleaner.
My messiest Thanksgiving clean-up was mud tracked over and over again in the house 🙁
I am a facebook fan. And our biggest messes are whatever spills on the floor… could be juice, could be cranberries, who knows!? Thanks for the giveaway.
What is your messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday?
WOW GOOD QUESTION! LAST THANKSGIVING I HAD THE FAMILY OVER and we have a lot of children in the family most under 4 yrs old. they decided that the turkey gravy looked a whole lot better on my beige carpet. lets say it was little indians at work!
You are by far my favorite site!! I would so love to win this so I could purchase something nice for my husband. One thing that being a stay a home mom doesn’t truly allow me to do 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!!

With the holidays comes lots of visitors and their wet and sometimes mucky shoes from our lovely Pacific Northwest weather. I wish I had a mud room, but we’re wall-to-wall carpet here and keeping the floors clean any time of year is a challenge!
What is your messiest carpet disaster during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday?
The year my dogs jumped up on the table and pulled off the turkey. As they were taking down the turkey they took the gravy and cranberries also. I had to clean trampled gravy and cranberry. Not a pretty sight on my beige carpet. We learned a valuable lesson that year. NO tablecloths ever and to put the turkey were the “babies” can’t reach it.
Spilled food and beverages and my dogs are the biggest messes in my house 😉
The biggest carpet mess is when my 8 year old son decided to see what gravy looked like on the carpet floor on Thanksgiving morning.
Whoops, didnt answer question..I would probably say cranberry sauce! Family loves it, carpet not so much

The biggest carpet mess was when my 8 year old decided that he wanted to see what gravy looked like on the carpet on Thanksgiving morning.
A gigantic candle spill on the carpet that, oddly, went undetected until after the holiday. No one has stepped up to claim the infraction to this day.
My son trying to feed his meal to the dogs has led to most of my major carpet disasters.
Our messiest holiday carpet disasters happen thanks to our dear old pup, Charley. She gets so excited to see everyone, she piddles a little as everyone comes through!! Of course, when you have 20 people over for dinner, those little piddles add up to one big mess!!
Tinsel/broken ornaments from the Christmas tree.
My most memorable Holiday carpet disaster was last year. My nephew had just started walking without his walker and getting used to his sea legs. Because of the in and out of the house between cooking and football the baby was put into his walker for the time being until dinner time. Well needless to say somehow my nephew was able to get over the hump that connects the dining room and other rooms and was able to pull the table cloth off the table with everything that was on it. That included the cranberry sauce, the butter and rolls, gravy boats, and dishes. Needless to say we ate in the living room on paper plates that year.
someone spills a glass of wine or soda Hope to win
the messiest thanksgiving carpet disaster is right after I sit the grandkids down to eat and they can’t eat or drink without spilling something.Crazy kids! I love them to death but I wish they made less mess!lol

One of my gurst spilling cranberry sauce on the carpet.
Our messiest carpet disaster came the day after Christmas, when we got home from our holiday festivities to find our septic tank had become blocked while we were gone. The entire hallway carpet was soaked in septic stench! To top it off, after my dear husband spent three hours cleaning the carpet, our son decided to do his laundry from our trip. Well, you guessed it, the carpet became soaked again! Not a good day!!!
My family loves turnips especially during thanksgiving. For some reason it always gets on my carpets from people drops on my dining room carpets cause of my kids, family, or even my dog who even gets a taste of my feast. But one thinhg besides the stain that is left behind, its the horrible smell that it leaves behind. Ive tried everything under the sun to get the smell out, but nothing seems to work better than Febreeze. I couldnt imagine a holiday mess without it 🙂
Juice…It always seems to be the red kind too!
The messiest??? holy cow !! The whole thing is a disaster EVERY YEAR !! ha ha..

Messy carpet disasters during the holidays in my house are the kids(adults too) dropping food or drink on the floor mixed with the traffic from everyone coming in and out.
all the cranberry sauce fell on the carpet.
My worst holiday stain was last Thanksgiving, when my mothers dog decided to drag the table cloth off the table and into the living room. Most of our meal was still on it, the worst part was the turkey, he hid the turkey and we could not find it for two days, the smell was awful and it left a horrible stain. Even after we threw the turkey out, the dog went and tore our garbage and packed the turkey around outside for almost a week!
My worse has been an entire plate of food, cranberry relish and all spilt on a white living room carpet and then the 5 year old try to clean it up without telling anyone about it so he wouldn’t get in trouble. It was so funny afterward but impossible to clean up.
My niece made red velvet cake on year for Thanksgiving. I had just gotten new very, very, light beige carpet. My 13 month nephew loved his red velvet cake. He smashed it into my carpet with his shoes. Needless to say, my carpet wasn’t new for very long. Lol
My messiest disaster is just my 2 kids and my dog. Where ever they go chaos and mess follows
The year that the garbage disposal clogged in the kitchen & the pressure build up & busted the pipes under the sink & water spewed everywhere! It was a mess!
my worst holiday stain is red wine found after the inlaws left .and cranberry sauce deeply tracked into my carpet. need any help i can get by keeping my carpet ready for christmas
thank you
My kids seem to spill EVERYTHING on my beige carpet! But messiest had to be last thanksgiving when my then 1 1/2 year old dumped her whole plate of food on it, turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, the whole thing on my biege carpet!
Anything red that ends up on the floor. From a cherry pie to ground in crayon. Light colored carpet shows colored stains.
When the dog runs into the house full of people and trips the person carrying the turkey! Turkey goes everywhere and it is hard to get the smell out of the big rug on the floor…. Febreeze comes in handy then!
when the kids cant say no and eat to much then by the middle of the night they are throwing up.

The messiest carpet disaster must have been when Mom got up from the table at Thanksgiving and accidentally took the table cloth with her. The food was everywhere including the carpetted floor. Febreeze would have been helpful at a time like that!

One year I had a container of BBQ sauce and it got spilled all over the floor. Took forever to clean up!
My messiest carpet disaster is when the kids knocked over the green bean casserole while running around playing and grounded it into the carpet by running over it.
So far nothing terrible has happened, but with twin toddlers and two dogs, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. In fact, I think I’ll go pray to the clean carpet gods right now. 😉
the worst stain I have ever had from thanksgiving is that sparkling grape juice its immpossible to remove and on christmas its always the chocolate pudding pie that one of the kids get on the floor it never fails every year >.<
The worst disaster would be if the gravy fell all over the nice, clean carpet!!!
the messiest ever was when my dog, who loves people food, lol, climbed up on the chair at the kitchen table and decided to eat what she could reach which YUK lol was cranby erry salad and turkey gravy and both hit the carpet when she tried to get **closer ** to them lol To say the least, we had a mess but was pretty colors lol felt like crying but wouldnt have gotten the stain out 🙂

Blackberry Cobbler that was puked up on my off-white carpet
We woke up to our 18 month old Making Thanksgiving. It included footprints from the pantry made in flour. Footprints to the refridgerator getting, Ranch dressing, Heinz 57, Ketchup, Water, A cup, a spoon and the dogs helped track the mess. I have pictures of our Early Thanksgiving meal and it took days to get the mess out of the carpet.
I don’t celebrate holidays but I do watch my mom in laws dog sometimes and he can get messy. He can drink too much water and then throw up on the carpet and I have to clean it up. Febreze would be great for that.

Having two kids that are 3 and one that is 1 running around eating in the house during the holidays and all the adults that are careless makes for messy floors also having a dog that goes to the bathroom in the house since its rally cold outside since its winter time in MN!
The largest Thanksgiving disaster to clean was when my husband dropped the Turkey on the family room carpet. It flew everywhere! On the furniture, walls, floors, cabinets, TV, decorations. It was awful! Cleaning it all up was a huge challenge!
The worst disaster was when my dog got into the left overs from Thanksgiving. He went into the trash. Well, he had diarrhea-all over the carpets. We were out Christmas shopping and came home to the worst smell ever!.
mine was when we had the whole family here and we had 6 dogs and the dogs took over the food table and us trying to save anything was not to be. so everything hit the entire floor!

When one of my kiddos dropped their special Christmas cake, that I make every year, on the carpet….needless to say we had to get cherries and whip cream out of the carpet along with the jello cake :/
I came home last year around Christmas to find our 1 and 1/2 year old Golden Retriever Sherman decided to try out a fresh pan of Almond bars that were on the counter !! I could not believe the pan never left the counter and was full of teeth marks- He left the crust – just ate the filling !! I took the pan off the counter turned around and had the pan in hand to throw away and needless to say the bars did not agree with the dog !! He had lost his cookies (In this case it was bars! ) just past the wood floor on my living room carpet !! It stunk to high heaven and was not a very fun clean up job !! That smell and stain took along time to get rid of- needless to say I just had the carpet replaced earlier this month !! The only spot that you could see when taking up the old carpet was that one- I used so many products to rid of the smell and stain it ate away at the pad ! That had to be the worse spill ever on my floor !!

The messiest carpet moment for me was the sparkling red grape juice bottle that broke. Not only was there a big stain, there was also lots of glass.
When I dropped a Large cup of melted butter for a recipe, little challenging to get out of carpet! I have also experienced the dog issue with eating the Turkey it was gross to say the least!
When the dog knocked over our folding table with ALL of your thanksgiving dinner on it! It was like something from a movie.. needless to say, we had enough extra food to re-make our plates and a fun time was still had by all. It was crazy!

My dog is by far the cause of all my carpet disasters. From the daily problem of getting into the garbage and spreading it out , getting dishes out of the sink and doing his business on the floor I have enough cleaning to do to last me all day , every day . Last Christmas he got Christmas breakfast off the counter and spread cinnamon roll all over the carpet. It’s always something and my carpet is only a year old!
My worst Thanksgiving mess was one year when my nieces were little and
they decided to play the game dropsy with their food hoping the dog would
catch it before it hit the floor. Well needless to say the dog didn’t like the

Our biggest mess would be our two-year old trying to feed himself and/or knocking over our drinks for a big sticky mess!
My messiest carpet disaster during the Christmas holiday was when we had the bright idea to move the tables out of our small dining room and into our huge living room to accommodate more people. All was going well until my aunts dog chased my fat cat up the tree. The extra weight on top caused it to come down in the middle of the table scaring everyone and causing the table to go on its side. Long story short, Cranberry sauce, gravy and alot of other “hard to get out” foods all over my cream colored carpet!! Thank god for restaurants open on the holidays.

I subscribe to your email, ‘like’ you on Facebook and I follow you on Twitter! ^_^ The messiest carpet disaster was on Christmas morning! My little brother and sister were really young at the time and they were excitedly sitting on the floor, ripping open their presents and digging through their stockings. My yellow lab with a crazy tail sent a glass of red wine flying. red wine and shards of glassI Ugh!!

Dogs dragging mud into the house.
One of the first years I cooked Thanksgiving dinner at my own home, instead of going to my parents, I also made homemade cranberry sauce for the first time. Just as I started putting everything on the table, my then two-year-old decided to help himself to an ear of corn. That in itself would have been cute, if he had not knocked the cranberry sauce and the corn on the cob off the table. It started an almost dominoe effect, with a great deal of our dinner ending up in a pile on the carpet.

My messy accident was when my 2 year old grand daughter spilled chocolate milk on my white carpet. OMG.
It would have to be the candle wax from a three-wick candle that was burning in the living room… a friends son accidently bumped it and the end result was red candle wax all over the livingroom carpet in a spray pattern. Then to make matters worse, he tried to hide it and covered it up with a blanket… (like he was laying on the floor with it)… so yea! So not happy.. Luckily I new how to get the wax out with the paperbag and iron trick, and thankfully my carpet was darker in color, so the red stain from the wax wasn’t noticable!

I love Freeze and their endless coupon offers!
The messiest thing at the Holidays has got to be the food. Kids and adults alike, are always dropping or spilling food on my floors and carpets
The messiest thing over the holidays is the traffic on the carpet & floors from outside to inside & tracking mud, dirt, grass & more.
Our messiest carpet disaster during the holidays has to be visiting doggie messes!
Well, we learned early on that carpet and our family does not mesh very well, so very few rooms in our house still have carpet. Unfortunately the bedrooms still do and somehow the animals always end up making their way up there… Let me tell you, dogs combined with Christmas candy = a nasty mess to clean up!
Our messiest carpet disaster would be the pumpkin spice cake and fruit punch that got smooshed into our living room carpet after running out of kitchen table room and people were eating in the living room!!!
The family spilling food and drinks! It gets messy with so many people, but I still love them. 😉

food stains are the messiest especially chocolate
The biggest mess is usually when someone gives one of the cats something they shouldn’t eat and they barf on the carpet (never on the easy to clean tiles).
when my sister tripped carrying warm, just made, liquid strawberry jello! not only will that stain your carpet, it will stain everything it touches including hardwood floors, tile, and your skin!!
Definitely my carpet, but in the car! I just spilled an unset berry pie aaallll over the back seat carpet on Sunday, I still haven’t cleaned it all up yet! I could really use some of that carpet cleaning magic right about now! 🙁
Someone spilled mincemeat pie on the carpet. Argh! Good thing we have a less than picky dog!
my worst disaster this thanksgiving is getting cranberry sauce all over my brand new white rug. it was a disaster to clean up and after i did my dog liked the spot so much that he started licking it and when i scolded him he peed on another rug in the house. fun fun fun.
Wine. For sure!
my 20 month old and 5 year old with purple grape jucie right in the entry way! not to mention all the other sippy cup dribbles all over my carpet
My Three year olds mess after eating. Food smashed into the carpet, yuck! lol!

We often check for any pet soilage or odors on our dining room rug. Febreeze is fantastic to use on it.
My 2 boys and their friends made ‘liquid sucides’ consisting of Grape Kool-Aid, Cherry Kool-Aid, Dr. Pepper, Sprite Zero, Grape Juice, and Blueberry Juice. Which 5 out of the 6 kids spilled onto my carpet after sneaking them out of the kitchen. Followed up by them dumping a huge cheese pizza upside down on same carpet. What a mess…
